Balancr reads your credit card and e-wallet statements and turns them into a clear picture of your spending. Everything stays on your own computer — nothing is uploaded, nothing is tracked, and no one else can see it. Not even us.

Nine banks have purpose-built readers. Anything else falls back to a general reader that handles most standard statement layouts. Bank names are shown to describe file compatibility only — Balancr is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, any bank.
What it does
Drop in the PDF your bank sends you every month. Balancr does the tedious part in a few seconds.
No typing anything in by hand. Upload the statement exactly as your bank sent it, and every transaction is pulled out automatically.
Groceries, transport, bills, shopping — each purchase is labelled for you. Disagree with one? Change it with a single tap.
Month-by-month totals and a breakdown of where it all went. Tap any month or category to see exactly which purchases made it up.
Most banks password-protect their PDFs. Balancr spots that and simply asks you for the password — used once, for that file, then forgotten.
Your privacy
Most money apps ask you to hand over your bank login or upload your statements to their servers. Balancr does neither — because it has no servers at all.
Your data is scrambled with the same class of encryption banks and governments use. Copy the file to another computer and it's unreadable gibberish.
AES-256 encryption at rest, with a key generated uniquely for your install.
Your account password is never stored — not by us, not on your machine. Only a one-way scramble of it is kept, which can't be turned back.
bcrypt hashing at cost factor 12, with enforced minimum length and complexity.
Balancr only ever answers to the computer it's running on. Other devices on your Wi-Fi can't reach it, and neither can anyone on the internet.
Running locally by default and is not exposed externally.
The statement you upload is deleted from the app the moment it's finished reading it. Only the numbers stay — never the original document.
Uploads verified by true file signature, capped at 15MB, and erased immediately after parsing.
Repeated wrong password attempts are slowed down automatically, so nobody can sit there trying combinations.
Rate limiting on login and registration: 20 attempts per 15 minutes per source.
No analytics, no ads, no "anonymous usage data", no account on our end. Once installed, Balancr makes zero connections to the outside world.
Strict Content-Security-Policy via Helmet; no third-party scripts, fonts, or trackers bundled.
Offline by design
You need the internet exactly once — to download it. After that, everything happens on your machine: reading your statements, sorting them, and drawing your charts. Turn off your Wi-Fi, unplug the cable, sit on a plane — it all still works, because your statement was never leaving your desk in the first place.

Banks change their statement layouts from time to time — when Maybank, CIMB, or any of the other supported banks tweaks their PDF format, Balancr needs a small update to keep reading it correctly. Renewing keeps your copy eligible for that fix. It isn't a subscription to the app itself — it's coverage for the moving target of what a "bank statement" looks like.
Skip it, and nothing breaks today. Balancr keeps working exactly as it already does — you just won't receive an update if your bank changes its format until you renew. Already own a licence? Renew here.
Questions
No — and you shouldn't give it to anyone. Balancr only reads the PDF statements your bank already emails or gives you. It never connects to your bank, and it never asks for your banking credentials.
In a single encrypted file on your own computer, in the app's own folder. There is no copy anywhere else — no cloud backup, no server, nothing on our side. That also means you're responsible for backing it up.
No. You download one file and double-click it. There's nothing to install alongside it, no settings to configure, and no command line involved.
There's a general-purpose reader that handles most standard statement layouts, so it will usually still work. If it doesn't read your statement correctly, you can see exactly what it extracted and tell us — the reading rules are adjustable.
Yes, but each computer keeps its own separate data — there's no syncing between them, by design. Syncing would mean sending your statements somewhere, which is exactly what Balancr avoids.
